Bernie will be presenting in the “Energy Efficiency Argument for On-Site Power Production at Ethanol Plants” track at 11 am on Monday, June 11th. His topic is Combined Heat & Power: Transforming Ethanol Plants' Profitability, Carbon Intensity and Value. In his presentation, Bernie will address why CHP is the technology most suited to significantly reduce production cost/gallon, drive increased plant valuations, simplify operations, and achieve energy independence.
Bernie has presented at FEW many times. In his last appearance in 2016 his topic, “The Emerging Carbon Economy” led him to more deeply explore methodologies that would most effectively transition the ethanol industry to compete in a more energy-centric world.
Bernie is a widely-known and respected industry professional. His career encompasses key positions with industry leaders The Broin Companies (now Poet) and ICM. He also served as COO of Babcock and Brown Biofuels.
